Armor Battle
I really hate to put this game down but I was hanging in between the two or three thumb rating. I like this game but it really was never good because you need two players for it. There is no way around it. The graphics and sounds are great. The idea of invisible land mines is a superb, well thought idea. It really shows another level of potential this game system had. In comparison to Atari's Combat, the graphics and game play are far better, but as usual, when most of these games were made, for whatever reason, they were two-player only. What if you were an only child? Still to this day I cannot understand how or why you would make a system with two-player only games. I truly believe that the Atari 2600 beat out Intellivision because of this. Had this game been a one player with two-player as an option, Armor Battle would have blown Combat from the battle field. This game is fun and challenging. Each player is given 50 tanks so there are 50 possible rounds of play, but each round is ended when one person looses both tanks. It takes three shots or running over one land mine to knock-out an opponents tank. You are allocated two tanks per round and the game is officially over when one person runs out of tanks. There are building and trees to hide behind, water hazards to cross and roads to traverse. Very common, $2-$7 fetches this one. Get it, one night when you have company, take some aggression out on a friend.
